You might know Skagit Valley for the daffodil and tulip fields in the springtime, but visiting in the summer has so much to offer. Here’s our relaxed and fun guide to making the most of a summer weekend in Skagit Valley.
Stay at Getaway House
We love Getaway House because it’s the perfect glamping experience. You’re secluded and surrounded by nature and peacefulness while having the comfort and everything you need in the tiny house. It’s great that we don’t need to pack all the camping gear and can simply enjoy a relaxing getaway.
Explore Deception Pass State Park
One of my favorite places to explore in the area is Deception Pass State Park, which is only 45 minutes away from the Getaway House. There’s so much to do and see that you could spend days exploring it without seeing it all. The park offers breathtaking views, scenic trails, and the iconic bridge – perfect for nature lovers.
Grab a Pizza to Go from Sahara Pizza
We loved grabbing a local pizza at Sahara Pizza. Their delicious pizzas are perfect to take on the go, and we brought ours to enjoy a picnic with a view at Rosario Head.
Have a Picnic at Rosario Head
Rosario Head is a beautiful spot for a picnic. The panoramic views of the water and surrounding landscapes are stunning, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy your meal.
Drive Up to or Hike Mount Erie
Mount Erie has some beautiful views of the surrounding areas. You can either drive up all the way to the top or do a short 30-minute hike via a beautiful trail. The views from the summit are definitely worth it!
Eat Dinner at COA Mexican Eatery
After a day of exploring, we treated ourselves to dinner at COA Mexican Eatery. The vibrant atmosphere and delicious Mexican food were just what we needed. Their tacos and enchiladas are a must-try!
Watch a Sunset at BayView State Park
Bayview State Park is an ideal spot to watch the sunset. The serene views of Padilla Bay as the sky turns orange and pink are simply magical. It’s a great way to unwind and soak in the beauty of Skagit Valley.
Enjoy Bonfire and S’mores at Getaway House
We ended our day back at the Getaway House with a cozy bonfire. Making s’mores and enjoying the warm fire was the perfect way to cap off our trip. The peacefulness and comfort of the Getaway House made it feel like a true escape.
Skagit Valley in the summertime is all about relaxing and enjoying the natural beauty. Whether you’re exploring state parks, savoring local food, or just chilling at the Getaway House, this itinerary has everything you need for the perfect summer weekend getaway.
