Earlier this year we hosted Eza Calzada and her husband at Postcard Cabins Piney Woods outside of Dallas for her birthday. Here’s what she had to say about celebrating together in nature.
This was a perfect birthday getaway that was one for the books. Morning walks, afternoon naps, campfire grills, good books, peaceful scenery, birds singing, tall piney woods, warm weather, sunset views in a cozy comfortable tiny cabin. We enjoyed everything about this cabin stay.
From getting there, it was easy to navigate, it was clean and complete with everything you need, there were well-maintained trails and very attentive customer service that were just one text or phone call away. It was a great first escape, in fact, we are already thinking about going to another location, maybe outside the state next season.
Waking up in the woods from a good sleep, hearing just the birds chirping in absolute peace, immersed in nature the moment you get out of your cabin was truly an unforgettable experience.
It made me realize a lot of things about relationships and what truly matters in life. In a modern world with technology and innovations, you do not need a lot to survive. You just need the essentials. Those things were provided in the cabin. Reconnecting with nature, yourself and your spouse, discovering and learning new things together and of each other. No matter how long you have been together, a person changes, and so do you. You realize there are new things you learn about your spouse. After those new discoveries, you go home only to have a stronger bond and more love for your spouse.
I think that everyone deserves, and needs to find time, to get away for whatever reason. It is life changing.
